Ms. Wintour was interviewed on “CBS Sunday Morning” today to discuss Vogue’s 120th anniversary commemorative book of cover photographs AND the release of the magazine’s online archives [Who doesn’t have an extra $1,500 laying around?!]. I’m hoping my limited access as a subscriber will provide endless hours of zone-out daydream time. Always excitement and innovation from the best! Cheers,
Apparently there is a film festival going on there right now? I don’t really give a fuzz cuz all I can see is that peeps are bringing it: behold Kate, Diane, & Marisa.
I am delighted to see each of these ladies looking so good! Although the three ensembles are very different, each is appropriate for the occasion [Kate & Marisa are at photo calls for their respective films, while Diane is working it at a premiere] and fitting for the actress’s age and frame. The photos here are courtesy of people.com, but also check out Celebuzz and InStyle for more [caution: not all are as well dressed as these three].
Which conveniently brings us to our next subject– or rather our next question– of the post: Keira Knightly or Anna Wintour? Pretty sure we now know who will be playing the notorious Editrix in her posthumous biopic. Let’s just hope it premiers in Venice!
In follow-up news: apparently I wasn’t the only one aghast at RiRi’s feathered garb. HuffPost reports that animal rights group PETA has scolded her for wearing ostrich feathers that “might have been collected in a cruel or harmful way — possibly while the animal was still alive.” SHOO, and I thought it was just a fashion crime! #goawaypeta
Also of note: PoseCity heroine Carine Roitfeld answers some Q’s from the NYT, including one regarding the charms of another PoseCity esteemed citizen, Tom Ford. #wanthernewbook
And finally, in news of the truly bizarre, I’m taking this holiday weekend and going…CAMPING.
Normally, <— this would totally be my attitude if such an activity was presented. However, I feel extremely lucky to have the holiday off this year, and I’ve been craving a bit of an escape from the almighty SCREEN [computer, phone, computer, computer, phone, glazed, not focusing just zoning, etc.]. My friends were generous enough to invite me along, and for a very economical rate, I will be in the wilderness for 48 hours! Wish me luck.
Remember: a foxy pose per day keeps the animal activists away. Surely my exursion into nature [and my aversion to ostrich] will keep ME off their hit-list for the time being…
Until next post!
Hi dears! A schedule shift has left me with a few hours in the AM and I’m feeling very image overwhelmed as I peruse the worldwideweb. Must share my findings! Must crank up more Led Zep! Must make more coffee! Weeeeeeeeeee! Enjoy this video performance from 1969. It needs no intro/explanation.
[Except I would like to know why Mr. Plant is wearing mandals?!?]
I was perusing the Dec. 2010 InStyle last night and was blown away by these cuff bracelets worn in a photo shoot featuring actress Olivia Wilde (seen below, on her right wrist in the first photo, on both in the second). The jewelry designer is Aurelie Bidermann and I think I’m in love. Check out her website and be amazed.
Awards Season is nigh! I obvi cannot wait. I have not heard the typical buzz regarding the actual films in contention, so I’m hoping that the fashion will really stand out this year. Here are two slideshows to ahem, get you in the mood:
Peeps Predicts what the stars will wear: Such a fun click through and some really great suggestions. I want the job of assembling such features. kthanksbye
HuffPost takes a look back: The GGs are the kick-off to the season and the looser, more laid back (drunker?) version of the Academy Awards.
Always make time for some ridicule:
Chloe wrapped herself in the picnic blanket. At least her lady bits are covered. Shame.
I think we can all agree that such hair raising don’ts should be left to Ms. Gaga. She’s really the only one who can attempt to pull it off.
Paging NASA! ‘Galaxy’ as a print should just not happen. It’s science.
Let’s end on a high note:
Sigh… by far my favorite image of the day/week/month. Rumor has it that the stylin Mr. Stoudemire will be collaborating with Rachel Roy on a fashion line set to debut later this year. There’s nothing about that union that I don’t like. Win!
Hope you enjoyed this morning’s serving of visual vitamins. Feeding the Fashion Soul is OBVIOUSLY part of a balanced diet.
For a time (“ticking away the moments that make up a dull day”) I worked a job that required me to usher laser light shows JEALOUS MUCH? The last show of the night was always Pink Floyd: half the year was Dark Side of the Moon, the other half was a few selections from The Wall. One must really looooove a band to come out of that experience possessing the same level of crazed fandom as before. I admit, I haven’t visited my Floyd collection as regularly since, but I will always *heart* PF… and am on a bit of a kick after hearing Pigs (Three Different Ones) out last night. This is my favorite song from The Wall and the most ridic sequence in the movie. Crank it up, puff puff pass, whatevs.
Just a baby post tonight, am feeling like all I do is stare at the computer. Want to read/write/draw. But I just had to share these images from a Candy Magazine editorial via HuffPost Style. See the whole slideshow here.
According to their website, Candy is “the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations,” and is also behind this amazing cover shot of James Franco in drag :
Loves it all! Need to find Candy in hard copy A to the SAP- the mock Vogue spread MUST be a part my personal archives. (#ohsoexpansive)
Alright pets, ’tis my final Pose of 2010, can you even deal?! Wowsa.
Have a great NYE/NYD, be safe, drink some bubbly and dance like everyone is watching.
HAPPY NEW YEAR POSE-RS!!!!!!!!!!!
